Coolest bike shop in Brooklyn. I’ve always wanted to go on a bike tour, but they seem to sell out very quick. Small shop. Curated items in stock. He can build you the touring bike of your dreams
Joe the owner would be a successful shop owner in any sector of the business world. He just happens to be in the bike business. With that said, what a wonderful experience it was purchasing a bike from him. No needless up selling from him - just pure knowledge, facts, and know how. I was seeking a Kona for commuting and it's a beauty. 5 star operation!
New Update (still 5 stars):
Joe is really the man. He makes the buying process very easy and is very communicative. He's relocated in Brooklyn and I absolutely love new shop. Still has it's old style but now it's just him! He treats everyone with respect even during these challenging times. I bought a new bike recently and he completed the build very quickly shortly after receiving it. Thank you again Joe, will continue to come back.
The mechanic Max did a fantastic job at aligning my derailleur hanger. Gave me an honest and fair price for the job that had to be done. Joe is always there when I visit and is very nice. This is a quality shop with real bikes and gear. Will be going here from now on whenever I need professional help.
This is a fabulous bike shop. Joe, the owner, is super friendly and super knowledgable. I recently bought a gravel bike from him, and he was so helpful throughout the process. Really took the time to talk me through different options and what different choice might mean in terms of performance or maintenance. If you are looking for a gravel or touring bike, this is the place to go!
718 Cyclery is my favorite bike shop in all of NYC. The owner, Joe, has an incredible passion for bike camping, and he is always excited to share his knowledge with anyone that comes into his shop with questions. It's a well curated store with great items at fantastic prices, and if they don't have an item you're looking for, Joe can get them in quickly. Joe also leads amazing bike tours ranging from an over night to week long bike camping trips. I took the Buffalo to Albany 6 day tour with him and cannot recommend it enough to anyone interested in bike camping. Every detail of the tour was sorted by Joe beforehand, and even with ever changing weather (and even smoke from Canadian wildfires) he had a plan for the group even before we woke up. 718 also hosts bike camping workshops as well as community events that I highly recommend. If you love the outdoors and bike camping, this shop is a must visit!
A lovely little shop with a wide assortment of biking, camping and outdoor gear. The owner is very friendly and very helpful, plus the store is just comfortable to be in with a lovely atmosphere.
Hop in to get your biking adventure needs.
Note: not a full service bike shop.

Stopped at 718 to put some air in my tire during a ride, and to buy a small frame bag. The person working in the shop was really friendly and helpful, and I loved the shop’s selection of accessories. I can’t speak to the quality of mechanics, but based on the interaction I had with their staff today I’d trust them with my bike.
Really glad to have such a cool bike shop nearby. Joe is super friendly and helpful. He helped me get set up with a new Surly and I love it! His website is also a great resource for bikes and bike camping
718 is the best. The reason it's the best is Joe, who is helpful and friendly and doesn't have an ounce of the kind of intimidation I worried a bike shop of this caliber might have. I felt like I was ready for a super cool bike. I ride a …
